Book carts galore

The new library is starting to get filled up with book carts, although all of the children's books are still at the old library. The first two photos of are the old library - can you guess where in the library they are? The rest of the photos are of the new library. Check it out!

Plants!

This week inside the library does not look significantly different from last week. The carpet has been laid in the computer lab now that the wiring below is finished. The emergency exits all around the library are now lit up too - making it look more "official".
However, on the outside of the library, there were two obvious changes. The parking spots have been repainted (there's lots of parking!). And most of the landscaping has been done.

Bicycle racks

The bicycle racks are new. They immediately grab your attention.

This is taken from the inside looking out the entrance. Booksale area is to the right of the photo.

This is in the Adult stacks facing the program room.

The monitors you see up on the wall are digital displays that will provide information about programs, general information about the library, and closed dates.

The monitor stand you see directly in the center will be the computer queue for those people with reservations.

Lay down the carpet!

Most noticeable difference this week is that the carpets are down throughout the whole building. The electricity is powered on with the lights and air conditioning working. The final work is being done so that we can start moving the books and shelves over. Take a look!

This is the Teen area - almost like a fishbowl, isn't it?
