Week thirty-two: Interior painting starts

Although I wasn't able to sneak in and get pictures of the interior painting going on, I've been told it's moving briskly. It's estimated that the new library will be opening in July. Keep your eyes posted on our blog to find out more specifics as the time grows closer.

The front entrance is mostly done - there will be tilework going up on the grey part of the entrance. Hopefully next week there will be a picture of that.
Here's the main entrance from two different angles:

Closeup of the bighorn sheep

Here's a larger photo of the architectural detail towards the top of the roof.

The Inside!

For the first time, here are some great shots of the inside of the library.
Here we are standing inside the entrance to the library.

Here's an overview of the main area of the library. In the far corner is where the entrance is.

Here's a view of the computer lab.

Here are the two study rooms that will be available to the public.

The painting of the outside walls has started. Here's a view of the west side of the library where the drive-through is.

There will be lots of natural lighting thanks to the many beautiful windows throughout the building. Isn't this a beautiful view?

A bighorn sheep? You decide.

Some interesting features have showed up this past week. I noticed these little details towards the roof of the library. It looks like a bighorn sheep to me. What do you see?

There is a lot more scaffolding up this week than previously. It's hard to see but many of the windows are in place now.

Here's a closer shot of the windows in front.

Have you had a chance to see the building in person yet? The new library is located at the corner of Lake Mead & Water Street, across the street from St. Rose Hospital.
